Creative PartnershipsArts Council EnglandUniversity of Portsmouth

Project Management

Brief: Create, manage  and deliver four different creative projects in Fareham  and Southampton as part of Creative Partnerships Change and Enquiry project framework

Activity: A 12 month project, working with 4 different schools, to develop and promote teaching for creativity. This includes working with partners from the arts sector, managing  teams, problem solving, budget management, and evaluation against Arts Council England criteria.

 

Theatre Royal Winchester

Evaluation of services

Brief: Evaluate the services provided by the Community, Learning and Outreach department of a medium scale theatre in southern England and provide  a strategic frame work for development.

Activity: analytical research, data analysis, stakeholder interviews with county and local Councillors, funders and audiences, budget review, report writing and final presentations to Trustees and Chief Executive.

 

Salisbury Playhouse

Project Management

Brief: create and deliver a year long programme on' Creative Learning' for a Wiltshire specialist arts college  who want to maximise their potential and move from ‘good to great’. Working  in partnership with Salisbury Playhouse to provide a creative enviroment for learning.

Activity: on site training events for  differing staff groups at the school including non teaching staff, pupils, parents and site management teams, coaching; team teaching, class based research, observation, peer assessment, pupil voice, evaluation, data analysis, quantative and qualitative measurement techniques.

Training

Brief: Devise and manage a project on armed and unarmed combat, in partnership with The British Academy of stage and screen combat.

Activity: This a week long programme for young people (14+) and adults who want to be trained in the stage fighting craft of armed (swords and rapiers) and unarmed combat. Working with professional fight directors, this programme can be adapted for any age and any level of experience. Participants can be entered for different levels of professional  combat awards in preparation for further specialised study.

 

Chatterbox

Community Training

Brief: write and deliver  training programmes for families in Eastleigh Borough that improves speaking and listening through storytelling with artefacts.

Activity: The Chatterbox Project©, is a unique training programme  written and created by Gaynor Davies  that can be used with  parents as well as school and community staff and qualified Literacy trainers. You can pick and mix from a range of modules designed to meet the needs of different groups. Telling a story together encourages parent and child to communicate and play together on a joint venture where specially chosen objects act as a stimulus for imaginative and creative tales to share together.

Research

An action-research project to investigate the teaching of thinking skills, and its impact on teaching and learning, the project brought together schools in the UK and Hong Kong. Led by Gaynor Davies, on behalf of a partnership between the League for the Exchange of Commonwealth Teachers, Hong Kong Baptist University, and Hampshire County Council Education Department.
